Man is inherently good. What changed us are the things that influenced us as we grew older. As the saying goes, ” The eyes are the window to one’s soul.” And this window works both ways.
We all presume that the window that the “quote” mentioned was how people see us. That window is very different from what we see from inside that window. We are not talking about “The Johari Window” where there are four windows where awareness of oneself is revealed in different degrees. This window we are referring to is the one from our self point of view. It is what you see.
What do you see? Do you see a darkened or an illuminated soul? We can see ourselves by how others react to what we say and do. We have to attune ourselves to the things happening around us. Yes some people say that they can live alone and wish that they ‘d be left alone so they are free to do what ever they want but are they really happy, contented and peaceful?
We oftentimes find ourselves in the darkness of our being. It brings out the worse in us I know because I have been there. What I realized is darkness will consume you. It becomes sleeping ember under cold ashes inside you that one day when strong turbulent wind blows it would create massive and explosive fire. You yourself would be surprised where it came from.
How do you suppose we can find a solution to that? Plain and simple. Find what makes you happy. Find something good that is productive and uplifting. When you have found it. You will be able to put light to the darkness your feeling.
In the recesses of the darkness of our soul, let us find small little candles of goodness to light us up. One day, you will soon find out, our soul is brighter than anything you can imagine. Through your light, you can even help light up others’ as well.”
